Jimmy Chin was 100 meters from the summit when his team turned around. “It felt awful” in the moment.
The climber and filmmaker says setting aside emotion and staying objective under pressure is what let the team live to climb another day. They went back to the mountain featured in his film “Meru” and eventually reached the top.
