The prime minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, visited Greenland’s capital, Nuuk, on Wednesday to apologize in person for a traumatic chapter in Greenland’s history, when Danish doctors forced birth control on a generation of indigenous women and girls. The reception was mixed. Some women wiped away tears. Others sat stone-faced.
