Mastercard is integrating stablecoins into cross-border transactions to eliminate multi-day settlement delays and hidden fees. By launching Open USD on Solana alongside Visa and Stripe, the payments giant is moving aggressively to protect its institutional moat from crypto disintermediation. However, valuation metrics present headwinds for equity investors. Mastercard currently trades at an elevated forward PEG ratio of 1.79, earning an F factor grade under a GARP quantitative framework that rates the stock as a Hold. While its 16.0% revenue growth outpaces Visa's 14.4%, Visa continues to deliver superior net profit margins despite Mastercard's robust 17 billion dollars in operating cash flow.
