An ICE agent shot a man in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, local authorities said. The man, an immigrant from Venezuela, was taken to a hospital and then released into ICE custody, an immigration lawyer representing him said.
The shooting added to a number of violent interactions between federal agents and people in cars. More than 20 people have been shot since September, nearly all of them in their cars, and some fatally.
