I tried out the GoPro Max 2 camera to compare it directly with the Insta360 X5 and the original GoPro Max 1. The differences in image quality and color sciences didn't immediately jump out to me like they sometimes do. Some shots with the Insta X5 look more magenta than the Max 2. Both cameras handled exposure and white balance slightly differently depending on the shooting conditions and it wasn't always consistent or was fairly subtle. Overall, I feel like the best way to decide on these kinds of cameras is to try renting one and see which workflow works best for you.
