Mortgage rates surge to the highest since June 2025 as Iran war pushes oil prices up The average rate on the 30-year fixed mortgage is now 6.87%. That rate is 12 basis points higher than it was Thursday and is being fueled by rising oil prices. CNBC's Diana Olick has the details.
