Venezuelans were on Thursday searching for survivors of two major earthquakes that rocked the region surrounding the capital Caracas, flattening buildings, causing widespread casualties and damaging the country's main airport.
Acting president Delcy Rodríguez announced an early toll of at least 164 confirmed dead and 971 injured.
