“Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie posted a tearful plea on Instagram for the return of her missing mother.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was first reported missing in Arizona on Sunday, and the sheriff’s department is treating the disappearance as a crime.
During a news briefing on Monday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said police saw concerning signs at Nancy Guthrie’s home after she was reported missing. He said that after processing the information at the scene, authorities believe “that we do in fact have a crime scene, that we do in fact have a crime.”
Nanos has said investigators haven’t identified a suspect or person of interest in the case. The department also said it was aware of reports of possible ransom “note(s).”
