Thunderstorms and the threat of more flooding were forecast for southern New Mexico on Wednesday, a day after heavy rain triggered flash floods in the area that killed three people in Ruidoso, officials said.
A man and two children died after being caught up in floodwaters on Tuesday afternoon, Ruidoso’s mayor said. The flash floods came when monsoonal rains inundated land charred by last year’s South Fork and Salt fires.
